Emma amuses herself (Anna)

I was just watching the video that Caroline posted, of Emma on the rocking chair stool. Emma was on the floor of the office playing. She heard herself on the video laughing and looked up as if to say "What's that?" I told her it was her, and she started chortling to herself. Apparently, we're not the only ones who find her highly amusing!

Emma's first Christmas (Caroline and Anna)

We had a wonderful Christmas.
A while ago, Caroline found a wooden rocking horse in a second-hand shop. We decided to strip it down and re-paint for Christmas for Emma. And now, we are happy to introduce the newest member of the family: Neptune, the sea horse.
(If you're wondering whether it was a lot of work, yes it was, and by the end, we were completely sick of it, but we're also kind of proud of it).

Emma is not quite old enough to sit on it and rock by herself...
But she loves holding onto it while it rocks.
The tree on Christmas Eve, with all the presents under it.
The grand opening.
The living room on Christmas afternoon, after the opening of the pressies. Emma loved the wrapping paper.
Emma trying on her new hat and sandals (in a baby's world, sandals are things to eat) from Granny Heath and Grandad - an inititation into Aussie culture.

Green (Caroline)

Emma is obsessed with green food at the moment. Broccoli. Brussel sprouts. Avocado. Bring it on.

Last night, I cooked chicken stew and cornbread, which is one of Anna's favourite meals. I thought Emma would really enjoy it. But no - she even stuck her tongue out at my beautiful cornbread and happily munched on a piece of broccoli.

I know that in the future we will miss having a child who eats her veggies, but I must say I was a bit miffed that she didn't like my special meal.

A few other shots from the last few weeks:
